  You are really missing the answer on this one. They don't like me because I am standing firm behind my Christian beliefs. Most here cannot deal with that as they cannot get away from what momma Borg taught them about 'false religion'.
  It's like Black Man (1) used to say on h2o, JWs are like some kid who finds out 'his momma is a crack hoe'. They reason, "If my momma is a hoe then ALL mommas are hoes".

  Special Judicial Committees

  you will have to understand that i have to change a few details here and there so that i can't be identified.. as many of you are aware i serve as an elder, and from time to time i have been asked by the service desk to handle matters for them by means of "the special committee arrangement".

  (a phrase you will not find in any wt letter or elders textbook.

  ) just to explain.. "a special committee is often set up when, an original committee (ojc)decides to disfellowship an individual, who then appeals against the judgement.

  Hi tina,
  You can't really nail the fundies on this one. We do NOT disfellowship, we do NOT investigate people's lives, we do NOT keep other sinners like gays/lesbians out for we want to minister to them.
  That is how it is done in REAL Christianity.
  I can't speak for all but I can speak for the greater number of Southern Baptists. We are some of the worst sinners on the planet.
  Just an FYI to show you that there are not that many parallels between JW fundies and we Evangelicals.
  Do you know the difference between a Christian and a non-christian?

  for those who don't know what a buckeye is, it is the state tree of ohio.

  it also grows in michigan, but most michiganders try to kill them off and burn them at ohio state - michigan football games when ohio state loses.

  the buckey tree produces brown fruit that look like a chestnut, except they are poisonous.

  Jim, anyone who carefully studies the difference between myths and Christianity can see that any similiarities are only superficial. When the apostle Paul defending Christ before the ruling class he appealed to real events that they themselves knew about and could verify for themselves. There were hundreds of eye-witnesses to the resurrected Christ who walked among them.
  It's time for you to actually study some positive works about Christianity, available in public libraries, then go visit a Bible teaching church that has a learned pastor.

  Hi Richard,
  This is a particularly vile bunch of people. They are so infatuated with being able to say ANYTHING (with the unmoderation here) that the vulgarities dominate at times.
  Some of our old gang from h2o seem to enjoy setting this kind of example and it is 'no class' in my book. It's like the old comedian comparison: some are just funny because of their intelligence and wit; others need to be vulgar to get a laugh.
  This place is full of the second type.
  I have to confess, my disdain and lack of patience has come to the surface too frequently. I also have trouble resisting the delivery of a good 'zinger'. Thanks for the input of common sense, old friend.

  If you feel that I have been disrespectful of you then I apologize. I have been critical, sometimes rather blunt. My disprespect comes when people are vulgar for no good reason. I also do not respect people who use already answered atheistic questions like they are something new. Big Jim is a case in point.

  Why would anyone even attempt to clarify your idiotic tirade since you seem to be to lazy to look at the real answers?
  "Don't cast your pearls before swine seems appropo".
  I really get a kick out of the whole mindset of the JW whiners on this forum. Any post which slanders REAL Christians or Christianity draws rave reviews so you are doing nothing but wasting bandwidth.
  Let's 'put the shoe on the other foot', what do YOU believe in?
